Bluebonnet Adventure Race (2016 TSCARS #1)

Event: Bluebonnet Adventure Race (Texas State Championship Adventure Race Series #1)
This is an adventure race and includes approximately 3-4 miles of trail running (this particular race is on ranch roads with minimal trail running), 15-19 mile mountain bike (on ranch roads - beginner friendly for the first race of the series), 25 - 35 minute canoe & mystery events. The race is designed to take 1.5 - 2.5 hours on average. This is a 2-person team race (not a relay) where both racers must stay together the entire time. You may also do this race solo. We give you mileage ranges above because each of the 4 races in this series has different terrain and we adjust the distance to meet the predicted finish times above, so the easier the course, the longer the distance, and the more difficult the course, the shorter the distance.

This race is located at the Ten xXx Ranch in Glen Rose in the beautiful crosstimbers area of Bosque and Somervell Counties (which is at the very top of the Texas Hill Country and 60 miles South of Fort Worth in Glen Rose).  The ranch is a working cattle ranch plus an outdoor paradise with over 40 lakes/ponds, over 60 miles of paved roads and an infinite number of scenic views and overlooks. The ranches’ nearly 10,000 acres of rolling hills and oak groves serve as home to an abundance of wildlife, including several exotic species such as Elk, Addax, Axis, Red Stag and many others.  The numerous private lakes and spring-fed creeks. You can even enjoying the spectacle of a 50-foot waterfall crashing into a lake where we will be paddling.

Texas State Championship Series Race:
This race is also part of the points series for the Texas State Championship Adventure Race Series (TSCARS), where the top teams in each division will be crowned at the conclusion of the 4-race series. Teams receive points according to their finishing place in each individual race. We will count your best 3 finishes out of the 4 races (one drop) to award the State Champions and calculate series standings. You must compete in at least 3 races to be eligible for series awards.

2016 Race Series:
Here are the 4 races in the 2016 series.

We provide the Inflatable canoes (Sevylor K-79 model ), paddles and life jackets, so you don't have to worry about additional rental fees or competitors with more expensive boats. You must use our boats, paddles and life jackets. However, you must bring and use mountain bikes for all adventure races - mountain biased hybrids are allowed. You are also required to bring and wear a CPSC certified helmet!

Kid's Races: This is loads of fun! All races of the series will have a kid's race. Kid's races are free, usually last just a few minutes, and include a run and possible mystery event with plenty of cheering from the racers. Parents are allowed to race with the younger kids.
